ClearBerth ("the app," "we," "us") shows PNR status, live train tracking, and journey alerts for Indian Railways. This page explains what information the app handles and how.
The app saves the following directly on your phone, using local storage:
You can clear this at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in your phone's settings.
When you check a PNR or train number, that number is sent to our servers, which query a third-party data provider to return the result to you. We store this search history, tied to your device's push notification token, so we can show you results and, if you subscribe, send you alerts about that specific journey.
If you subscribe to journey alerts, we store the PNR or train number, your chosen journey date, and your push notification token for as long as needed to deliver those alerts, after which the subscription is automatically deactivated.
We also log IP addresses on our servers, used only to prevent abuse of our systems, and record which in-app buttons you interact with (such as tapping a food-delivery link), to understand general app usage.
None of this data is shared with third parties, sold, or used for advertising or tracking.
ClearBerth offers optional paid features (PNR Status Alerts, Live Journey Alerts). Payments are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never see or store your payment details.
The Food tab links to Zomato's and Swiggy's own official pages, and the "Book on IRCTC" button opens IRCTC's official website. These are third-party services with their own privacy policies; ClearBerth does not collect data from your activity on those pages. The app also opens your phone's own SMS/messaging apps with a pre-filled message for certain features; you choose whether and to whom to send it, and ClearBerth does not see or store this.
